Timeless Furniture: Armoire

Almost always equipped with two doors, the armoire was originally used to store arms and armor way back when, though the modern-day armoire is more likely to house cashmere sweaters and fancy media centers than chain mail and Medieval swords. Based on Fred Astaire’s glamorous, suave style from the 1940s, this four-door armoire from Posh Living can be used as both a closet and an entertainment center. Use the tray drawer, adjustable shelf and sweater partitions to store foldable clothes, or remove the shelf and partitions and plug in your TV. The bottom two doors of the armoire open to reveal three tray drawers for storing additional garments or DVDs and the like. Put this piece anywhere in your house, from your bedroom to your office and even your hallway. It’s an endlessly useful storage device and the geometric square-on-square finish of this particular design means it will complement all your other furniture and never look out of style.
